Asheboro Copperheads
Attend an Asheboro Copperheads baseball game at the tradition-rich McCrary Ballpark. The Copperheads participate in a wooden bat league called the Coastal Plain League, where a family can catch a glimpse of the stars of tomorrow. Lake Juno Water Park

North Carolina Aviation Museum
The North Carolina Aviation Museum features vintage aircraft from World War II and Vietnam and much more military memorabilia. Museum hours are Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 1 to 4 p.m. The museum is located at 2109 Pilots View Road in Asheboro. For more information, call 336-625-0170.
Richard Petty Museum
Drop by Randleman and take a pit stop at the Richard Petty Museum. There is plenty to look at as the family learns about the King of Nascar racing Richard Petty. Uwharrie National Forest
Located in the southernmost part of Asheboro is the Uwharrie National Forest at the Birkhead Mountains Wilderness Area. For the outdoor adventurer, strap on your boots and enjoy a hike on the trails and walk the area where evidence of Indians and settlers have been found on many occasions. Pre-Kindergarten Program and Applications
Pre-Kindergarten programs serve children who are identified as being at risk for entering kindergarten with potential delays and children with identified special needs.
The Partnership for Children funds Pre-K programs and is looking for children living in Randolph County who will be three (at select sites) or four years old by August 31, 2009, and who MAY QUALIFY for its Pre-K program. You must provide income verification. You also must provide your copies of your child’s birth certificate, updated immunization record, proof of residency, and social security card (if applicable). You will receive written notification of your child's Pre-K application status.
